Noise

 June 19, 2021

So many people write the kind of stuff that they won't read themselves if it came to them under name of some other author. Most of what is written is just noise, and music in the written word is lost in all that noise.

It benefits capitalists who are in the business of publishing to promote the noise as real music requires a real genius - a rare enough  quantity; whereas one's people are paying for noise it provides for unlimited profit-growth opportunities; there being no scarcity of noise-makers. It also makes people more lonely, or at least those in it that went to a bookshop looking for good literature but only saw overhyped books.

Entertainment, instead of religion, is true opium of masses. Bread and circuses is a cliché for a good reason. Power to masses always turn everything into entertainment - be it books (literature giving into generic stuff), arts (a special mention to movies) sports (with IPLs and cheer girls), politics (Trumps and Modis) etc.
