I may be darkness
But I am the darkness you
Rest and go to sleep in
That's sooths and cares,
The guardian angel
That destroys and rejuvenates
That beta noire
which just won't go away
I am the darkness pure
where all things lose their form
And words lose their power
to the truth that humbles
The egos of tyreants
I am the darkness turbulant
of your disquiet soul
When ignored, unacknowledged demons
Come crawl out
Reminiscent constant
of your broken dreams,
misbegotten loves,
and forgotten ambitions
I am the darkness young
formed of your own shadow
Shadow that remembers
your secrets
That spreads itself around you
Poking holes from every direction
in lies you have been telling yourself
I am the darkness unreal
a metaphor casually used,
now let loose into reality
at your peril
An evil let lose
by the Pandora's box of your imagination
I am the darkness eternal
Ecomposing the universes
The dark fabric of galaxies
resplendent by shimering stars
I am darkness spiritual
a state of mind
No light scares me to hiding
You won't see me coming
for I was always there
You won't see me leaving
I will always be there
I am the darkness clear
I flaunt not
the ignorance bred by blinding lights
But the pertinent confusions
Of lives misled
A product peculiar to
An inexperienced, ephermal, existence
I am a darkness solid
Not just an absence of light
You don't get rid of me that easy
I am the fever that won't go away
A nosy intruder to your attentions
A nagging bad memory
The itch you can't help
keep scratching
I am the darkness of
A thousand and one nights
Stories told and untold
Fantasies yet unfolded
The idea irresistible
The stuborn song
that just refuses to be sung
And be over.
