Things you need to remember about people:

1. Most people over thirty probably won't change their ways significantly even if they are trying particularly if they don't want to get out of their comfort zones.

2. Whether it is a business venture or a relationship of any type, don't start anything with people who are unwilling to get out their comfort zone.

3. If someone says they can't live without you, the chances they are speaking truth are meagre no matter how much you want to believe in them.

4. Forgive people for how they behave toward you once, may if you truly want to - twice but never thrice.

5. You are an idiot but most people are just stupid (or may be that is just your perspective but that is all you have either way).

6. No matter how large you assume the human potential of stupidity to be, it will surprise you by being of higher magnitude.

7. Don't commit yourself to anything large if you aren't interested in it yourself.

8. For one reason or other, you will always be alone and friendless in so far a friend is a twin shadow. You won't ever have anyone to talk to or anyone who will understand. You must face the worst of your demons alone.

9. The generality of humanity (and not the 'man') is the measure of all things that meet success and it only understands banal kitsch. Don't expect success in your artistic ventures (even if you must keep finding results) unless you can write something banal.

10. Everyone wants to be heard, so few if any wants to hear. Everyone wants to write but few are willing enough to read. You listen (or you try to) and you listen, but don't do it too much just to help others (you keep doing that) or you will spread yourself thin for people who won't bat an eye for you.
